How We Do It

We use Monday through Thursday to find the best deals. We visit the same markets all over the country that our competitors do, but you can count on our buyers to bring you the lowest price. We do all the negotiating upfront, so you don't need to worry about haggling. We combine these purchases with liquidations, closeouts, and other one-of-a-kind pieces from name-brand manufacturers so the best prices are already in front of you.

Our mattress department comes with prices just as amazing. Our manufacturers craft our mattresses with the same materials as the big-name brands, but we don't charge you for the big-name advertising they do.

The Weekends Only Shopping Experience

We’re not into stuffy, high-pressure shopping, either. Our 40,000-50,000-square-foot showrooms are easy to browse with similar items grouped together. Need a new dining room set? Head to the Dining department to look at dozens at a time.

We train our sales people to help with your questions, not to pressure you into buying. Test as many couches and mattresses as you need to make your decision. If you find yourself falling asleep on one of them, it probably means you’ve found the perfect one to take home!

From 1937 to Today.

The Phillips family has been in the St. Louis furniture market since Phillips Mercantile opened downtown in 1937. They owned several other area furniture stores in the following decades, so it was no surprise when Tom and Dave Phillips decided to continue the family business with Weekends Only.

The first Weekends Only opened its doors in 1997, which led to the 5 stores open in the St. Louis area today. We opened a store in Castleton, Indiana, in May 2015, in Greenwood, Indiana, in February 2018, and in Springfield, MO, in May 2021.

We entered the online shopping world in 2013 with an e-commerce site. With the consistent sales growth we see each year, we are proud to hold a place in Furniture Today’s list of Top 100 U.S. Furniture Stores.
