One of the best parts of Easter: Reconnecting with the family.

One of the most stressful parts of Easter: Prepping for the family to come over.

If you are hosting Easter brunch or dinner this year, you don’t need to totally transform your dining room. One tweak might be all you need to get ready for an elegant Easter dinner. Here are our 4 tips for a smooth family gathering for Easter.
Step 1: Focus on the Dining Table | Weekends Only Furniture and Mattress

Focus on your dining table. Gathering your loved ones around the table to enjoy an Easter feast is all about the food, the conversation, and whom you share it with. A decorated table sets the stage: Flowers in vases, spring decor, and pastel colors make the focal point of your holiday festive and inviting.

Step 2: Make Your Seating Flexible | Weekends Only Furniture and Mattress
Make your seating flexible. Not sure if those cousins will really show up? Or maybe you have a last-minute addition to the guest list? Make sure you can adjust your seating arrangement as necessary. Store extra chairs or a long bench against the wall, and if the cousins don’t make it after all, you can use those spots to hold the kids’ Easter baskets during your meal.

Step 3: Stay Organized | Weekends Only Furniture and Mattress

Stay organized. What’s going to be your biggest challenge for this Easter holiday? (Besides those cousins who never remember to RSVP, natch.) Need more storage? A display area? A place to lay out food? Whatever your need, be sure to make the decisions ahead of your event to prevent panicked searches for more wine,  wine glasses, additional serving ware, napkins, tablecloths, serving trays, large serving bowls, or anything else you might need.

  • Consider a chest or china cabinet with built-in cabinets or wine rack. Bonus: They’re a pretty spot to display the china you inherited from grandma
  • To serve a buffet-style dinner, choose a sideboard, buffet, or long side table
  • To display Easter decorations and keep the Easter baskets out of reach until the hunt, you would be well-served with the high shelving of an elegant etagere

Step 3: Stay Organized | Weekends Only Furniture and Mattress
Keep the kids happy. If you are entertaining a bunch of little egg-hunters on Easter, they are going to love sitting at the kids table this year. With its pastel colors, this pint-sized Easter dining table will still match your decorations. Be sure to add a plastic tablecloth if they’re dying eggs—memories are best remembered on Instagram, not on the furniture.
