Getting married this summer? Congrats! We couldn’t be happier for you. How’s the planning going? Um, yeah, we feel you. It seems like everybody has an opinion on how your big day should look and feel—and cost.
Here’s our only piece of advice: Make your day yours. Making the ceremony and reception reflect your personalities doesn’t require you to go overboard or over budget, either. Here are a few ideas to help you nail down details that personalize your big day.
Idea #1: A Unique Table. Try something like the Glenwood Chairside Table on the left (just look at the metal heart design!) to display decor of your choice or to hold your wedding favors! It could even star alongside you at your cake cutting!
Grab a few little items – like colorful wall art, a dried flower bouquet, a heart sculpture, a chalkboard to write messages or your wedding hashtag on – to customize your photo booth for you and your guests. These will all look great in the wedding album we know you can't wait to share on Facebook.
Idea #3: The Guest Book. We absolutely love the idea of a unique guest book, like letting friends and family sign the artwork of your choice. See the map below? How fun would it be to have your guests write where they’re from? This is something you will keep to remember who was with you on one of the most important days of your life.
Idea #4: The Unity Ceremony. There are also amazing small pieces you can snag for your unity ceremony. Grab your fave vase for your sand ceremony, single candle holders for your unity candles, or votive holders to light up the ceremony.
Inspiration #5: The Home. The best part: All of these can also be used to make your new home together exactly what you want. Reusing wall art or candles in a new home eases the whole “I just paid for a wedding” budget situation, and it brings reminders of your wedding day into your everyday life. What could be better than that?
Best wishes from all of us at Weekends Only!
